The Brewers have called up Paolo Espino from AAA to make his major league debut on Friday. The 30 year career minor leaguer is 4-0 in seven starts with a 2.54 ERA covering 35 innings of work in 2017.

After winning the World Series last season, many have said the early season struggles of the Chicago Cubs is a hangover. The Cubs are looking to awake from their early season funk and looked wide awake Thursday in a 9-5 win versus visiting Cincinnati. Cubbies starter Jon Lester picked up the win with three runs allowed over six innings with a pair of relievers giving up a run each. Chicago posted nine hits and walked nine times with Javier Baez going 3-3 with a homer, five RBI’s and a pair of runs while Kris Bryant leaving the yard and scoring twice. Addison Russell also gave the Cubs a pair of runs and every starter but one scored and or recorded an RBI. The Chicago Cubs give the ball to Eddie Butler for his second start of the season. Butler was outstanding in a 3-2 win at St. Louis with a two hit, three walk performance over six scoreless innings.
