The Los Angeles Angels and New York Mets clash in the Big Apple in an interleague MLB baseball bout.
The Los Angeles Angels haven’t gotten a whole lot of ink in the American League West but they have been surging with four consecutive victories after outscoring the Chicago White Sox 12-8 on Wednesday. Angels starter Matt Shoemaker improved to 3-2 with four runs (three earned) allowed on nine hits over 6.1 frames before Jose Alvarez gave up three runs in an inning. The LAA bats pounded out 13 hits and walked six times with Mike Trout clubbing a three run bomb with Martin Maldonado driving in three and Albert Pujols knocking in two more. Los Angels received two runs apiece from Cameron Maybin, Andrelton Simmons and Ben Revere as every starter but one scored and or drove in runs. The Los Angeles Angels are slated to start Ricky Nolasco versus the NY Mets on Friday who he last saw in 2013. Nolasco comes off of a 4-3 loss to visiting Detroit with three runs allowed on five hits and four BB in six frames.

The New York Mets are off to a slow start to the season which is never a good thing but it’s especially painful with the Washington Nationals in the same division. The Mets have been struggling with seven straight defeats following a 5-4, eleven inning loss at the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. New York saw Matt Harvey struggle with three runs scoring on six hits and four free passes through 5.1 innings before Rafael Montero served up a walk off homer in the 11th to absorb the loss. The NYM attack consisted of eleven hits and four walks with Michael Conforto cracking a two run homer with Juan Lagares also going deep while Jose Reyes logged three hits with a run and RBI. The New York Mets hand the ball to Jacob deGrom for his first career match up with the Angels. DeGrom comes in off of an 11-9 loss at Milwaukee where he was charged with four runs on eight hits over six innings.
The under is 21-8 in Los Angeles last 29 road games and Los Angeles are 5-12 in their last 17 Friday games while Los Angeles are 7-3 in their last 10 interleague games. The over is 18-6-4 in New York last 28 home games and the over is 33-14-6 in New York last 53 on grass while the over is 33-14-6 in New York last 53 overall. The over is 7-1-4 in the last 12 meetings.
The Angels have been playing their best baseball and even though they are a long way from home I give them a puncher's chance...
